Compare Facebook Marketplace and RC House for buying or selling used RC gear, from local discovery to shipping, wanted requests, and checkout.
Facebook Marketplace is useful when nearby discovery and a quick conversation are the main job. RC House is useful when the item needs RC-specific details and you want listing, payment, delivery, or pickup information kept with the order. Both can work for a used car, aircraft, boat, radio, battery, or part; the right choice depends on how much of the transaction you want to arrange yourself.
Use this decision rule: if you must inspect a large model before buying, search locally first. If you need a discontinued part, a structured description, or a clear shipped order, start with RC House and compare any local option against the complete project cost.
Meta describes Marketplace, buy-and-sell groups, and Pages as separate selling routes. Shipping and delivery features can depend on location, listing, seller, and account. The public help pages reviewed do not establish one fee or checkout behavior that applies to every RC transaction, so inspect the actual listing and payment flow before promising shipment or a return.
Groups can be excellent for identifying a rare part or finding someone nearby, but each group has its own approval and conduct rules. A message or comment is not an order record. Seller ratings are one signal; Meta says it does not verify that reviewers purchased or used the item or service.
RC House listings can carry real-item photos, condition, contents, item specifics, price, and shipping or pickup choices. Buyers can filter models, parts, electronics, and lots, save listings into named lists, and post a wanted request with an exact item, budget, condition, and reference image. A wanted request can receive a seller response or matching listing, but it does not reserve stock.
A cart containing several sellers creates a separate charge and order for each seller. That keeps each seller’s shipping or pickup choice visible, but it is not one bank charge across the whole cart. Shipping currently supports the United States only. Local pickup records the exchange with a handoff code; give the code after checking the item at handoff.
RC House also supports service listings for repair, electronics, paint, fabrication, setup, and building work when a suitable provider is available. Scope, requirements, location, turnaround, and price vary by listing.
Before paying, write one line for the item, delivery, tax, missing equipment, tools, and likely repairs. For local Facebook pickup, add travel and the cost of a second trip if the model is not as described. For RC House, review the checkout total and shipping or pickup option per seller. Sellers should also compare net proceeds: the current RC House fee is 10% of the item or service subtotal plus $0.30, while Meta’s amount depends on the actual flow and account.
Ask either seller for the exact model/version, part number, included and excluded equipment, recent test details, repair or modification history, and close photos of labels and damage. Keep messages, photos, packaging, and tracking until the item matches the description.
